The Christian life is like... (a metaphor)

What is the Christian life like...
The Christian life is like a cargo ship.
Priorities:
#1 stay afloat
#2 maintain the vessel
#3 deliver products from "A" to "B"

Cargo ships are designed to get stuff from one place to the next - that is what they do. Cargo ships also need to be ready when BIG storms hit. Sometimes the storms are so large that the ship must forgo the timeline and SURVIVE the current situation. But once the storm has passed it is time to resume the ships purpose. If the ship is always in an emergency mode or maintenance mode  then all it ever thinks about is itself.
Storms come, we must be ready, but storms are not the normal. Normal is keeping the focus on the ships priorities.

(I will add more to this later)
